Julian Assange Is Back — And Nearly a Million New Followers Are Paying Attention

With just two words — “I’m back” — Julian Assange has demonstrated that his ability to command worldwide attention has not disappeared.
Assange returned to his personal X account on September 17 after more than two years without posting. At the time, reports placed his following at a little more than 566,000 people, while his announcement accumulated roughly 1.5 million views in less than two hours.
The response since then has been extraordinary.
At 6:00 a.m. September 19, independent X-tracking data recorded Assange at 1,467,752 followers.
That means his audience has grown by approximately 902,000 followers in about two days — roughly a 159% increase. He now has about 2.6 times the audience he had when he announced his return.
