Foreign partners deal with us differently now. Having worked for a few presidents, and seeing the road show, and how we’re treated, this time is different. You’ll see some performative objections to the President’s style but, in the end, they know he’s right in his end game.
He has a discursive speaking style, and he’s a hardball negotiator with no time for niceties, but when you see him operate up close, it all makes sense. Few people in politics can close a deal like President Trump. And if the President closes on a Greenland deal, watch all the doomers pretend they were behind him the entire time.
Again, I strongly encourage debate about tactics and mechanics, but give the man a minute to action a plan before dumping all over it.
Thanks, and have a great day. 🇺🇸
You’re free to argue all day about the tactics and mechanics about how we acquire a deeper footprint in Greenland. I strongly encourage a healthy debate.
However, pretending the national security threats and problems are even remotely similar to those of the past few decades is madness.
Seeing the threats over the past year, and how they evolve DAILY, was an eye-opener. I’m not sure the “journalists” writing about the issue have the faintest idea what they’re talking about when discussing the issue. Debate all you want, but in the end, we can’t wish this problem away.
