An Act Of Kindness

Just a reminder that there are business owners that can be very caring.

Our Veterinarian (Dale) lives down the road with his wife. I can never remember her name (it's German) she is a veterinarian also. Anyway, they have a large Log House on I'm guessing about 120 acres. They raise and breed horses and his wife shows them. Beautiful Property.
We have been customers for over 10 years. My wife (Carolyn) loves horses and they said we could come down anytime to see them and he even offered to saddle up Elle, the biggest ribbon winner they have (her favorite) for her to ride. Carol said no thanks, loves them but scared to get on one.
I took him some Ox Heart tomato starters this past weekend and said now you can grow your own, so I won't be delivering this year. I told him that we had an appointment to have Tia spayed, but was concerned about the estimate ($438. -$580.) and mentioned that Carol wanted to pay for it, but I didn't know how much she had in her "mad money" account. I also told him the the Humane Society does spays for $125. Then I told him Carol said that he wanted them to do it because she trusts them and likes them, and that made the extra cost worth it.
Well yesterday we had the appointment to have Tia Carol's sticktight spayed. When we went to pick her up, he called us back to a room sat down and methodically explained exactly what he did, including a puppy canine tooth extraction that we did not ask to have done and a nail trim. He knows Carol has dementia so he takes time and looks directly at her when he explains things. He then asked if we had been quoted the charges and I said yes. He replied "I have know idea what they charge for services, I just work here". I told him $438.90 He said lets go up front, he got a copy of the bill examined it, wrote on it, handed it to one of the ladies and said "this is the charges"...... $283.36 total. He then turned to Carol and said "Happy Birthday", he knew it was her birthday somehow. She then went around the counter and gave him a better hug than I get !!!!

There are still good caring people in this world, he is proof of that. ❤
