Pence had Gen Flynn fired. Then they could say Pres Trump appointed a Russian asset as a National Security Advisor, and that Trump should not hold office. McCabe boasts in his book that he went to Pence with a file on Flynn—ie Halper and Steele lies—and 3 days later Flynn was gone. The intel community knew Pence wanted to be President so they were tying to “Nixon” Pres Trump by getting him to resign. And to get Trump they had to get Flynn.
