So setting something on fire is protected by the 1st amendment? So why can't we set gay flags on fire without being charged with a hate crime? Or how about the man that made truck skid marks on a gay crosswalk some years back, why was he charged with a hate crime? Or the folks that painted over the "Black Lives Matter" paint job on the road, why was he charged with a crime? Why are people arrested for protesting in front of abortion clinics, why can't they exercise their 1st amendment right?
Seems the 1st amendment only protects radicals on the left.
I don't believe for a second that vandalizing the American flag is "Speech" at all. It's hateful illegal vandalism, and I believe in my heart the SCOTUS got this one 100% wrong. They are SETTING SOMETHING ON FIRE, how is that speech? 18 U.S. Code § 700 - Desecration of the flag of the United States, states burning the American flag is in fact breaking federal law.
People in this country need to educated themselves on what free speech and peaceful protest is. Free speech is NOT vandalism and setting things on fire, and peaceful protest is not rioting in the streets. The left have perverted morals and ethics in this country, and this is just an example of that extreme perversion.
