The most important book I read was in 1974, Aristotles nicomamchean ethics. It is was shaped my political thinking. To me it was an easy read as I was also studying Cicero in Latin class so I recognized the cadence of the language used. Nicomamchean ethics laid out governance. 3 simple analogies. 1. Singular - monarchy or dictatorship, 2. The few - aristocracy, cast or oligarchy 3. The many- the contributed. In ethics psychology is irrelevant as it always leads to 1 or 2 to were the biggest beneficiary is the government and the irresponsible at the cost of the contributor. It is chaotic and lowers or diminishs the the collective. In other words despotism. Call it conservative all you want I call it common sense. In capitalism there biggest overall beneficiary is the middle man. He always gets paid regardless of results. That is socialism in a nutshell, those in charge never suffer at the cost of the contributor. This is why socialism appeals to the fuckups of society.
