Our Father,
Who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name;
Thy kingdom come;
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.
Mathew 10:
32“Therefore, everyone who [x]confesses Me before people, I will also confess [y]him before My Father who is in heaven. 33But whoever denies Me before people, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven.
34“Do not think that I came to [z]bring peace on the earth; I did not come to [aa]bring peace, but a sword. 35For I came to TURN A MAN AGAINSTHIS FATHER, AND A DAUGHTER AGAINSTHER MOTHER, AND A DAUGHTER-IN-LAWAGAINST HER MOTHER-IN-LAW; 36and A PERSON’S ENEMIES WILL BE THE MEMBERSOF HIS HOUSEHOLD.
37“The one who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and the one who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 38And the one who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. 39The one who has found his [ab]life will lose it, and the one who has lost his [ac]life on My account will findit.
Mark 12:
28One of the scribes came up and heard them arguing, and recognizing that He had answeredthem well, asked Him, “What commandment is the [r]foremost of all?” 29Jesus answered, “The [s]foremost is, ‘HEAR, ISRAEL! THE LORD IS OUR GOD, THE LORD IS ONE; 30AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALLYOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALLYOUR STRENGTH.’ 31The second is this: ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” 3
Mathew 5:
38“You have heard that it was said, ‘EYE FOR EYE, and TOOTH FOR TOOTH.’ 39But I say to you, do not show opposition against an evilperson; but whoever slaps you on your rightcheek, turn the other toward him also. 40And if anyone wants to sue you and take your [ag]tunic, let him have your [ah]cloak also. 41Whoever[ai]forces you to go one mile, go with him two.42Give to him who asks of you, and do not turnaway from him who wants to borrow from you.
43“You have heard that it was said, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR and hate your enemy.’44But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45so that you may prove yourselves to be sons of your Father whois in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on theevil and the good, and sends rain on therighteous and the unrighteous. 46For if you lovethose who love you, what reward do you have? Even the tax collectors, do they not do the same?47And if you greet only your brothers and sisters,what more are you doing than others? Even the Gentiles, do they not do the same? 48Thereforeyou shall be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
John 15:
12“This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. 13Greater love has no one than this, that a person will lay down his life for his friends.
Luke 18:
18A ruler questioned Him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” 19But Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me [i]good? No one-is [j]good except God alone. 20You know the commandments, ‘DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, DO NOT MURDER, DO NOT STEAL, DO NOT GIVE FALSE TESTIMONY, HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER.’” 21And he said, “All these things I have kept since my youth.” 22Nowwhen Jesus heard this, He said to him, “One thing you still lack; sell all that you possess and distribute the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”
