Yesterday I paid tribute to my father, today I am 68 and 1 hour old. Yes, today is my birthday and my time of birth was 4:50 am. PST. I am more like my father than my mother. Dad was a Reagan conservative and mom a FDR Democrat. Politically the only thing I gave a shit about was government waist. While the 1960s felt the military industrial complex was involved in the drug trade I instead blamed military industrial complex on government tax fraud. The drug trade was less than a billion dollar industry, the 15% of government fraud was 10 billion, yet the hippies believed in big government so that they could be flower children dependant on government. Socialism is an easy sell to fuck ups that can't dedicate 8 hrs a days to conform for 40 hours a week. I at an early age accepted I wasn't the center of the universe and no one person is.
You’re free to argue all day about the tactics and mechanics about how we acquire a deeper footprint in Greenland. I strongly encourage a healthy debate.
However, pretending the national security threats and problems are even remotely similar to those of the past few decades is madness.
Seeing the threats over the past year, and how they evolve DAILY, was an eye-opener. I’m not sure the “journalists” writing about the issue have the faintest idea what they’re talking about when discussing the issue. Debate all you want, but in the end, we can’t wish this problem away.
“I think it’s very, very ironic that Governor Newsom, who strikes me as Patrick Bateman meets Sparkle Beach Ben, may be the only Californian who knows less about economics than Kamala Harris,” Bessent quipped.
