Senate Democrats are blocking a government funding bill that includes money for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) following the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old ICU nurse, by a Border Patrol agent in Minneapolis. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer announced that Democrats will not provide the votes to advance any appropriations package containing DHS funding, calling the actions of ICE and Border Patrol "appalling" and "unacceptable."
Schumer emphasized that the current DHS spending bill fails to rein in ICE abuses, and Senate Democrats will not support it without reforms. At least 15 Democratic senators have publicly opposed the bill, and they are demanding constraints on immigration enforcement, such as requiring judicial warrants for arrests and improving agent training.
The funding package includes $64.4 billion for DHS, with $10 billion allocated to ICE, and combines six government funding bills. It needs 60 Senate votes to overcome a filibuster, meaning Republicans would need some Democratic support. With the deadline approaching and no agreement in sight, the risk of a partial government shutdown is rising.
Senate Democrats plan to discuss their strategy in a caucus call, while some, like Sen. Angus King, suggest splitting the DHS bill from the rest of the package to pass other funding measures separately. Republican leaders have not yet agreed to that approach.

How about we remove their Secret Service Protection too. And at the same time seize all assets from the fraudsters and use the $BILLIONS$ from that and fund DHS. Let the Government shut down. FUCK THEM ASSHOLES !!!!!
