THE PROMISES YOU CAN COUNT UPON. THE BLESSED ARE YOU PROMISES. "When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up the mountain, and after he had sat down, his disciples came to him.  He began to teach them, saying: "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the land. Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the clean of heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you falsely because of me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven." (Matthew 5: 1 - 12). We know that the public ministry of Jesus comprises principally three departments: Teaching, Healing and Feeding people. In the Gospel of today famously called the Beatitudes or translated literally "How to be happy in the Kingdom of God", we understand why Jesus is called Rabbi. Rabbi refers to a person that has demonstrated authority to teach religious knowledge. Consider this words of Jesus: "I have come that you may have life and have it abundantly" (Cf John 10: 10) The Beatitudes are about Abundant Living. How do you come to this happy state? The answer is in the Golden Verse: Matthew 6: 33. "Make the Kingdom of God and its way of righteousness your first priority and God will take care of all your needs." This is my personal understanding of the Golden Verse. The 8 Beatitudes are therefore shining light on our path to the promised happiness of the Kingdom of God on earth. The Catholic Church honors the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph throughout the Month of February. The Church dedicates February to the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph as a way to contemplate the hidden life at Nazareth and to present their home as the model and “school of virtue” for every Christian family, For Prayers and Prayer intentions click the link below: http://seekfirst.blogspot.com/2024/01/the-holy-family-devotion.html To select Daily Bible Verse for another day please use Daily Reading section [Select date] option
