New development — second prosecutor leaves DOJ's Brennan/Mar-a-Lago “grand conspiracy” investigation
There is one genuinely new development this morning, September 29: Kurt Olsen has left the Justice Department team conducting the Florida investigation into whether federal law-enforcement and intelligence officials unlawfully coordinated investigations targeting President Trump. Reuters and AP independently report his departure.
This matters because Olsen had recently been involved in discussions surrounding the grand-jury subpoena of former CIA Director John Brennan, who has been identified in court proceedings as a target of a related false-statements investigation. Olsen's exit follows the earlier departure of Joseph diGenova, who had been leading the Florida investigation.
