I personally believe that "Self driving" modes and/or cars, should be banned. I've seen time and time again, these abominations driving off the road, into pedestrians, over curbs, etc.
The second part here is this woman was a MORON to allow a self driving car to endanger her and her child. She'll blame Musk for this, but she's a moron for closing her eyes and trusting her child's life to a multi-ton hunk of steal blazing down the road unmanned. Dumb as a box of rocks.
