Ya' know what, we all need to practice this.
Think for Yourself!!! Every person has their own mind. Yet we keep handing our opinions to cable pundits, professors, and blue-check “experts” who claim to own the truth. It’s easier that way. Outsourcing judgment spares us the work of sorting our own messy experiences. We treat experts like a dry cleaner—drop off the problem, pick up the tidy answer. But your life is the only lab running your exact experiment. No expert has your scars, your heartbreaks, or the private moments that shape you. Letting their talking points override your evidence means swapping your custom view for a generic one. History is full of experts who were wrong while ordinary people were right: the unsinkable Titanic, the 2007 housing bubble, “settled science” that wasn’t. The same pattern repeats today. Mainstream media (MSM) obsessively demonizes President Trump with 24/7 smears, cherry-picked outrage, and emotional manipulation—training millions to hate him on command until the narrative overrides reality itself. Many swallow the hate without ever testing it against their own eyes. This isn’t a call to reject knowledge. Read, listen, learn. But treat experts and anchors as advisors, not authorities. When their story clashes with what you’ve lived, pause and trust your evidence. Skepticism toward credentials isn’t a flaw—blind deference is. Real maturity means owning your conclusions, even if they’re quieter and less polished than the sound bite. Next time the talking heads tell you what to think, ask: What has my own life already taught me? That answer—the one that’s yours—is the only compass that never lies.
