I'm not an idiot, (I'm sure there are many on here that would argue that point) I realize there are many on this platform that don't give a rats ass about sports and least of all college sports... That being said, President Trump has recognized the insane direction in which college athletics are headed... NIL stands for "name, image and likeness" which has opened the floodgates to unimaginable compensation for these "amateur" athletes and made a mockery to well over a century of college sports competition... As much as the capitalist in me says making money is good, these athletes are no longer enrolled in college to receive an education, but to make a quick buck... I know the Gator portion of my handle is derived from my love for the University of Florida, but even none Gators recognize the name Emmitt Smith who was seen walking the halls of the school after being drafted into the NFL and subsequently achieving the all time rushing title... When asked why, he said "because I promised my mother I would graduate"... Was Emmitt a millionaire while playing for the Gators??? No, but he got his deploma as a millionaire after the signng bonus... Don't even get me started on the FUCKING PORTAL... How in God's name should a college athlete play for four or five different schools in their collegiate career??? Under Trump's EO, players can only transfer once without having to sit out a year of eligibility... That's one tranfer more than what was allowed in the past... Thank you Donald Trump and of course Go Gators!!!
