Long before Xi Jinping and the CCP there was another Chinese curse, which roughly translated is simply "may you live in interesting times"... Well I'm not sure if it is a curse or an underhanded blessing... The Lord willing in a little over six months I'll be celebrating my 76th trip around the sun... In my lifetime I've experienced what I refer to as the Norman Rockwell America... I've lived through the musical British invasion... I lived through sending men into space and eventually to the moon... I lived through the Vietnam War and Hippies, taking full advantage of Capitalism and owning and operating a "Head Shop" and unlike Bill Clinton, I did inhale... I lived through the feckless Jimmy Carter presidency when Iran took and kept American hostages for 400 days plus... I lived through Ronald Reagan having the hostages released within hours of his inaugeration... I lived through the Cold War and Ronald Reagan putting an end to it saying "Mr, Gorbachev tear down this wall"... I lived through Monica Lewinski and Bubba Clinton and Newt Gingrich's "Contract with America"... I lived through 9/11 and the horror of radical islam... (sorry, still won't capitalize that word) I lived through both George Bush presidencies, the Iraq and Aghanistan wars... I lived through Barak Obama and his attempt to "fundamentally change America"... I lived through Donald Trump's first term in which he revitalized the economy prior to Covid... Miraculously I lived through the Biden presidency mainly because I refused the vaccine... My twin brother's wife of 50 years got the vaccine and was dead within six months, don't tell they weren't realated... I'm living through Donald Trump's second term and watching him make this country and the world safer... Curse maybe, but it's been one hell of a ride...
