Watching Winchester 73 with Jimmy Stewart. It occurred to me that people use to camp out because they were traveling or had no choice. Slept under the stars with a campfire to cook on.
Today, people do it by choice for pleasure and even will pay to do it.
Back in years gone by it was a frying, pot, and coffee pot. Dried good or fresh killed.
Today it is coolers filled and iced and a varied assortment.
We get to enjoy as fun what they considered plain living, no frills.
The men who put country before self, and freedom before their own personal safety, deserved to be remembered today in all their glory for their remarkable heroism on D-Day.
Operations Overlord and Bodyguard were successful only because of the oceans of blood shed on those beaches by the patriots buried there. You will never be forgotten for saving humanity from the black clouds of evil that hovered over the world. Thank you patriots. 🇺🇸
