As a veteran, I view the actions of Iran, its proxies in Lebanon and Yemen, and other hostile actors as a serious challenge to the current international order. Iran has been in direct conflict with Western interests since the 1979 Iranian Revolution, and its efforts to expand influence over strategically important waterways raise significant geopolitical concerns.

Iran's relationships and activities in regions such as Venezuela and Cuba have led many observers to question its long-term objectives in the Western Hemisphere. I believe democratic and civilized societies must remain vigilant against forces that seek to undermine freedom, stability, and security.

In my opinion, any perceived retreat in confronting organizations such as the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) could be interpreted by extremist groups as a sign of weakness, encouraging further aggression. At the same time, nations such as China and Russia continue to pursue their own strategic interests, often seeking to expand their influence where opportunities arise.

We may be entering a period in history that requires nations and citizens alike to prepare for increasingly complex and dangerous challenges. The continued expansion of nuclear capabilities by China, the modernization of Russia's nuclear arsenal, and the growing instability involving North Korea and Iran are developments that deserve serious attention.

My hope is that diplomacy, strength, and international cooperation will prevail. However, history teaches us that peace is best preserved when free nations remain prepared, united, and committed to defending their values.

I would rather pay for what is to come now, than to leave it for my sons and grandchildren to have endure this madness.
