Have you ever payed close attention to how ads are designed or produced? I mean, making the appeal of a service or product they are cramming down your gullet in constant ads on TV? They design an "Emotional appeal" into the production of those ads. For example, when they want you to feel calm and relaxed, they slow down the movement of the actors in the ad. Show a well dressed hansom looking plumber walking up the driveway in slow motion. Perhaps show people talking in a gathering while in slow motion.
The other side of that is the happy excited appeal by having a group of people in public smiling, synchronously dancing, trying to make you feel excited about a new weight loss drug or product you really don't need.
Perhaps its just part of my learning disabilities, but I tend to see the details behind the production, and in most cases than not, can not remember the product the ad is pushing. I tend to dissect the production in order to try and understand what was going on in the heads of the ad company.
Anyway, something to think about next time you watch an ad. There is a lot of fishing going on in ads. Lot's of little tricks to try and get you to bite the hook, and get reeled in as a customer. After all, 99% of us don't want or need anything in these ads, but if they can convince you that you need that product or service, you will toss hard earned cash away on it. I don't need this, but here, take my money!
