I have a question for the veterans on this site. I am not sure if any of you came back with anxiety and/or PTSD, but how have you folks dealt with it?
Actually I have 2 questions. When did you first start dealing with the issues?
As most of you know, I was beaten by my own father which ended at 12 years old with a concussion and black left eye. I was still berated as "stupid" and "hopeless" all of those years. Yet I tried to make the best of a bad situation.
20's I worked non stop between lawncare services in sales, to the 2007 mortgage implosion, to getting a CDL. I still worked weekend days at a hockey shop as well. No social life just like my childhood except going to a nearby gym. Picked up hockey at 21 so I could learn something and pass it on.
30's, more of the same except I was coaching travel hockey for 2 good years. The mandates came for not just my job at Shred-It, but the rink too. Still getting berated by family for the stupid label. I guess it's stupid when you miss a bomb on W. 23rd Street in Manhattan and then another bomb at Port Authority by 4 hours.
In my 40's, I continue working for the NY Post as I never left one job. Nearly get run over by another stolen NY Post van on 3rd Avenue in 2020. I get coffee thrown at me while working at 4:00 in the morning. I get spit on around 3:30am for "lying about Palestine." Finally I get sucker punched on April 20, 2024 and I know that I won't be defended by this black bitch.
Francesca runs a great bakery, but I'm worried like he'll that she's going to have to close down in Merrick, NY. It hasn't even been 2 years. My anxiety is also due to the fear of being pigeon holed into what the state government wants. Essentially making me an indentured servant to Hochul.
Most of you also know, that I am "talking" to somebody, and her response to my situation is that I have to only focus on myself. I did, and that was labeled greedy and uncaring.
Sorry for the diatribe, but I have one last question for you folks. Did any of you talk to anybody who actually helped?
I won’t pretend to be cheery today. We will dust ourselves off and Fight, Fight, Fight(I’ll allow myself to grieve a little) @DBONGlNO
Is there hope?????

My election observations... I'm titling it... "The Rope-a-Dope"... Trump is leaning against the ropes, congratulating the people throwing punches at him, while an entirely different fight unfolds around the ring... Three days before the midterms, Trump posted Muhammad Ali's 1971 defeat against Joe Frazier... that caught my attention because Ali's greatest strategic masterpiece came three years later against George Foreman... the rope-a-dope... Ali absorbed punishment against the ropes, allowing Foreman to exhaust himself while the crowd watched what appeared to be a losing fighter... then, in the eighth round, Ali came off those ropes and knocked Foreman out... Now look at November 3... Dems capture Congress, the media celebrates, and Trump congratulates his opponents, praises their performance, and offers cooperation... He distances himself from the losses, reminding everyone he wasn't on the ballot and still possesses presidential ...
