🚨 Major development: Iran has reportedly put a detailed ceasefire/Hormuz plan before the U.S.
This crosses the threshold because it is more specific than the negotiating positions we had this morning.
Reported, but not yet formally confirmed by both governments: Regional sources briefed by mediators say Iran has presented Washington with a road map proposing a region-wide ceasefire lasting up to 60 days, a phased reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, an end to attacks on Arab neighbors, and negotiations aimed at ending the conflict. Iran wants the U.S. blockade lifted as part of the arrangement. President Donald Trump has not agreed to the plan and reportedly will not lift the blockade before Iran demonstrates what Washington considers sufficient goodwill.
That means this is not a ceasefire yet. But it is potentially important because the negotiations have progressed from broad demands to a proposed sequence of concrete actions—ceasefire, Hormuz reopening, blockade negotiations and wider regional de-escalation. Another negotiating round was reported as possible later Wednesday.
There is also a serious countervailing development at Hormuz. Confirmed by the UK Maritime Trade Operations center: another commercial vessel was struck by an unknown projectile Wednesday, caught fire and was left adrift. The crew was evacuated and two casualties were reported. Attribution is presently unknown, so there is no basis yet to say Iran carried out the attack.
Why this matters: diplomacy is becoming substantially more concrete at exactly the same time that commercial shipping through Hormuz remains dangerous. If Washington accepts a ceasefire framework and Iran actually begins reopening the strait, that would materially alter the war. Conversely, additional ship attacks—especially if eventually attributed to Iran—could undermine these negotiations.

I am not a doctor, and I don't play one on TV. But I am exposed to college aged kids around the local golf coarse near me (public golf coarse owned by the college). These college guys are good respectable kids, but they do like to talk about their college environment.
