Comey's trial has been delayed AGAIN until January. After a long discussion with Chat GPT, I asked this: Short answer: DO YOU THINK HE WILL EVER GO TO TRIAL AND/OR GET JAIL TIME? Percentages?
Answer: My rough estimate, based on the current court record—not media coverage:
Chance Comey eventually goes to trial: 60%
Chance the case gets dismissed/resolved before trial: 40%
Chance Comey ultimately serves actual jail/prison time: 20–25%
Why the gap? The indictment is real and DOJ says it has evidence beyond the seashell photo, but Comey has several substantial pretrial challenges pending, especially the true-threat, suppression/Franks, and selective/vindictive-prosecution motions.
Even if the case reaches a jury, prosecutors still must prove the required threatening intent/state of mind beyond a reasonable doubt. And even a conviction doesn't automatically mean incarceration; sentencing would come afterward.
So, yes, I think trial is more likely than not. But from where things stand today, I would not bet that...
